On 8 Sept., 2021, Sinopec and North Huajin Refining and Petrochemical Co. Ltd. concluded a license agreement for applying Hydrogen Peroxide to Propylene Oxide (HPPO) technology in a unit with the capacity of 30kt/a.

Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP), together with its four partners, has developed HPPO technology for almost 20 years. The China first demonstration unit with a capacity of 10kt/a was built in 2014, and has been running smoothly for a long period with 100% top grade products, symbolizing China the third country in the world that owns this technology. Based on this, by process optimization and engineering scale-up, RIPP has successfully developed HPPO PDP of 30kt/a with a promising market.

    HPPO is a technology for efficient propylene utilization, petrochemical industry restructuring as well as high-end and new green materials industry development.
