Sinopec RIPP’s patent “Desulfurization catalyst and preparation method and application thereof” won the gold award at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, which was held in Geneva Swiss from 24th to 30th April.

The S Zorb desulfurization catalyst developed by the invention is characterized with high adaptation to feedstocks, adjustable product compositions, low RON loss and high activity and stability, which make it the key to improve China’s technical level and international competitiveness for clean oil production. Based on the catalyst above, the S Zorb technology is able to remove almost all the sulfides for clean gasoline with high RON retention and liquid yield. The single step process is environmentally friendly and consumes significantly less hydrogen and energy without materials recycle, making great contribution to global carbon emission reduction.
