RIPP Develops Non-Noble Metal Catalyst for VOCs/CO Catalytic Combustion

The non-noble metal catalyst developed by RIPP for VOCs/CO catalytic combustion has passed Scientific and Technological Achievements Evaluation organized by China Petroleum and chemical industry association (CPCIF) recently.

The evaluation committee agreed that this RCO-1 monolithic catalyst based on doped transition metal oxide catalytic materials is featured with low cost, high activity and good stability, and can help refineries decrease cost and increase benefits by replacing noble metal catalysts effectively.

The head of R&D team introduced the three innovations of this project. First, the Redox capability of transition metal oxide catalytic materials has been improved by doping modification; second, the hydrophobic and sulfur-resistant modification technology has been developed to enhance catalyst performance; last, the new slurry formula can lower the catalytic material detachment rate and increase the structure stability of monolithic catalyst.
