From July 19 to 20, the Post-conference Forum (Beijing) of the 21st International Zeolite Conference (IZC) was held at RIPP. This forum was co-sponsored by Chinese Zeolite Association and Sinopec, and organized by RIPP. More than 100 representatives from nearly 20 universities and research institutions at home and abroad attended this event.
The International Zeolite Conference, held every three years, is the top conference for global zeolite industry. The 21st IZC, with the theme of "Toward a Higher Quality Zeolite Research", attracted more than 20 academicians and numerous scholars from universities, scientific research institutes and industrial departments worldwide.
This forum is an important part of the IZC and an extension of exchange in zeolites research. It is the second time that an important conference for zeolites field is held in Beijing since the 15th IZC in 2007.
The theme of this forum is "Zeolites for sustainable development of energy and chemical industries". Focusing on the development and transformation of the energy and chemical industry, RIPP invited scholars from well-known research institutes both domestically and internationally to deliver 11 invited keynote speeches and 4 youth scholar speeches.
The forum was co-chaired by Xie Zaiku (Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences), Li Mingfeng (President of RIPP), and Su Baolian (Professor of Wuhan University of Technology). At the opening ceremony, Yan Wenfu (Secretary-General of Chinese Zeolite Association, Professor of Jilin University), Wang Lijuan (Deputy Manager of Sinopec Science and Technology Department), and Li Mingfeng delivered opening speeches.
At the forum, the invited speakers shared their insights on the hot topics in zeolite research. These speakers include Dr. Valentin Valtchev [Distinguished Professor at the Laboratory of Catalysis and Spectrochemistry in Caen France, former President of International Zeolite Association (IZA)], Professor Paul Wright (member of the IZA Structure Commission, former President of the British Zeolite Association, former Secretary General of the IZA), Dr. Pirngruber Gerhard (expert at French Petroleum Institute), Professor Martin Muhler (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), Dr. Nikolay Nesterenko (Sulzer Management Ltd., Switzerland), Professor Michal Mazur (Charles University, Czech Republic), Dr. Xu Jun (Professor at Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, CAS), Dr. Chai Yuchao (Researcher at Nankai University), Dr. Wang Zhendong (Director, Sinopec SRIP), Dr. Xing Enhui (Deputy Director, Sinopec RIPP) and so on.
